Resolution Introduced To Exempt Old Vessels That Only Operate Within Inland Waterways From The Fire-Retardant Materials Requirement

House Resolution 619 was introduced by Rep. Steve Chabot, R-OH, to exempt old vessels which only operated in inland waters from the fire retardant materials requirement. The exemption would apply only if the owners of such vessels make annual structural alterations to at least 10 percent of the areas of the vessels that are not constructed of fire-retardant materials and for other purposes. The bill has 8 sponsors including Democrats.

Presently a complete copy of the house resolution is unavailable on the congress.gov cite. The legislation was introduced in the House on Jan. 24 and referred on the same day to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
