Sen. John McCain, a long time advocate to repeal the cabottage laws of the Jones Act, has introduced a bill in the Senate to exempt Puerto Rico from the coastwise trade laws of the Act.

Senate Bill 1894 was introduced on Sept. 28, 2017 and read the second time on Oct. 2, 2017. The legislation has not yet been referred to committee. Three other Republican members of the Senate (Sen.
