2021-2022 Editorial Board
Editor-in-Chief: Caleb Bertrand
Caleb Bertrand graduated from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University with a BSM in Finance. Additionally, he is an active member of Moot Court, the Loyola Advocacy Center, the Loyola Maritime Law Society, and an ambassador for the College of Law. This summer, he will clerk at Dudley DeBosier and intern at the Baton Rouge office of Taylor, Wellons, Politz & Duhe. He looks forward to working with the Board, faculty, and administration to expand the Loyola Maritime Law Journal.
Chief of Staff: Sarah Brandt
Sarah Brandt graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Business. She is a member of Moot Court and recently clerked at Porteous, Hankel, & Johnson, L.L.C. and Tucker Law Group in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sarah looks forward to working with the Editor-in-Chief, faculty, and Editorial Board to ensure the smooth operation and continued growth of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal.
Managing Editor: Lily Shropshire
Lily Shropshire holds a degree in Psychology from Spring Hill College. She is an Ignatian Scholar and a member of the Maritime Law Society. She previously clerked at the Low-Income Tax Clinic of Southeastern Louisiana Legal Services. As Managing Editor, Lily hopes to use her editing skills to ensure the high-quality writing typical of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal.
Symposium Editor: Alexander Brewster
Alexander Brewster graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Construction Management. He is currently a clerk at Brewster Law Firm, L.L.C. and will clerk this summer at Staines, Eppling, & Kenney, L.L.C. Alexander is President of the Maritime Law Society and a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. He looks forward to serving as the Symposium Editor and creating relationships with attorneys and firms that the Loyola Maritime Law Journal can reach out to in the future.
Substance and Citation Editor: Chloe Hart
Chloe Hart graduated from The University of West Florida with a degree in Political Science Pre-Law. She is a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and volunteered as a law clerk at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. She will intern with Disability Rights Louisiana. Chloe hopes to work closely with the candidates and the Editorial Board to continue to uphold the quality and caliber of work that the Loyola Maritime Law Journal has always maintained.
Substance and Citation Editor: Sarah Morgan
Sarah Morgan holds a degree in Ocean and Coastal Resource Management from Texas A&M University at Galveston. She is an Ignatian Scholar and a member of the Maritime Law Society, the Environmental Law Society, and the National Lawyers Guild. She also serves as Treasurer of the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Sarah is an intern at Louisiana Sea Grant and previously clerked at The Pro Bono Project and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. Sarah looks forward to working with the candidates to hone research and writing skills.
Comment Editor: Aubrey Baudean
Aubrey Baudean earned a degree in History from Loyola University New Orleans. He is currently pursuing a summer internship at a local maritime law firm. Aubrey looks forward to working alongside the Editorial Board and with the candidates to shape their writing into some of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal‘s finest work.
Comment Editor: Chris Abadie
Chris Abadie graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Political Science. In addition to being an Ignatian Scholar, he is a member of the Maritime Law Society and Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Chris recently interned for the Louisiana Appleseed Center for Law and Justice. He is a basketball official for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association and a regional official for USA Volleyball. Chris looks forward to working with the candidates to develop and write their Comments.
Technology & Blog Editor: Sarah Skidmore
Sarah Skidmore holds a degree in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans. She is a member of Moot Court staff and was a Lawyering I writing lab TA. She interned with The First 72+ and worked part time at the Law Offices of Gregory P. DiLeo. In the coming year, Sarah will be working in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic in the family law division. Her goal for The Current is to stay up to date with recent cases and issues in Maritime law.
