Spring Gaines, Former LMLJ Board Member, Selected As Finalist In NOAA John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program

Spring Gaines, a former member of the board of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal, was recently named as a finalist in the John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program sponsored by the Sea Grant Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Spring will work with a “host” in the legislative and executive branch of government located in the Washington, D.C. area for a one year paid fellowship. She was enrolled in the dual J.D. and LL.M. program at Loyola College of Law and graduated in May 2020 cum laude with her J.D. and obtained her LL.M. in environmental law, summa cum laude, in December 2020. The fellowship is open to graduate students “with an interest in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources.” We congratulate Spring on her accomplishment and for having received this highly coveted honor. As a member of the board, Spring was the technology and blog editor and awarded the Faculty Advisor and Advisory Board Chair Award for making the most contributions to the Journal during her term on the board.
