BESE Announces Finalization of Well Control Rule

            The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement announced on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 that it finalized Rules for Well Control which initially were adopted during the Obama Administration but altered during the Trump Administration. The β€œnew” regulations build further on those proposed during the Obama years. These were adopted in response to the BP/Transocean Horizon incident on April 20, 2010.
