New Cruise Ship and Cruise Ship Terminal Security Regulations Effective April 18, 2018

The Department of Homeland Security announced its final rule for screening requirements on cruise ships and cruise ship terminals on Monday, March 19, 2018. As stated in the notice in the Federal Register the purpose is to eliminate outdated regulations and to replace them  “with simpler, consolidated regulations that provide efficient and clear requirements for the screening of baggage, personal items, and persons on a cruise ship.”  The new regulations go into effect on April 18, 2018.The announcement and new regulations may be found following this url:https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2018-03-19/pdf/2018-05394.pdf
