Input Sought from Commercial, Recreational Fisherman On Offshore Wind farm Development

The Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries on Dec. 1, 2021 announced it is seeking input from commercial, recreational fishermen regarding the development of offshore wind farms.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), along with the National Marine Fisheries Service and the coastal states involved, is developing guidance concerning mitigation of potential impacts from offshore wind projects on commercial and recreational fisheries. A Request for Information (RFI) has been issued by BOEM to collect the information and will host several two hour virtual dialogues in December.
