U.S. D.C. Eastern District Proposes Amendments to Local Rules

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Dec. 6, 2021 issued a public notice of proposed amendments to the Local Rules. One change is to Local Rule 64.5 of the Local Admiralty Rules and requires any public notice now to be published in the New Orleans Advocate rather than the Times Picayune. Additional amendments are made pertaining to Social Security cases, Local Rules for Lawyer Disciplinary Enforcement and to the local criminal rules.

Comments may be made in writing on or before February 4, 2022, via email to Clerk@laed.uscourts.gov or addressed to Clerk of Court, U.S. District Court, EDLA, 500 Poydras St., Room C-151, New Orleans, LA 70130. Comments received will be made public and posted on the court's website with the author's name.
