NTSB Releases Report on Allision With Highway 11 Bridge over Lake Pontchartrain

The National Transportation Safety Board released its report on the Allision of a Coast Guard vessel with Highway 11 bridge during a rescue mission on May 3, 2017. The incident resulted in over $300,000 damage to the Coast Guard vessel and injury to a Coast Guard crew member. The Coast Guard was responding to a non-distress search and rescue mission of a sailboat which sank and was valued at $20,000.
